CHEYENNE, WY — Steve Friess, a businessman, conservative activist, and political outsider, today officially announced his campaign for Wyoming’s open at-large congressional seat. Friess is a Trump Republican dedicated to promoting the America First agenda, defending the freedoms that are a birthright of every American, and preserving the Wyoming way of life:
“Freedom and opportunity have always been the birthright of every American. I’m running for Congress to keep it that way,” Steve Friess said. “Too many career politicians talk about solving problems but never do. They make big promises and then sell us out to the lobbyists and special interests. I’m a businessman, not a politician. I can’t be bought, and I’m running for Congress to fight for our conservative values, support President Trump in his battle for the heart and soul of America, and continue representing our state with the impactful leadership Congresswoman Hageman has.”

Steve Friess is no stranger to the conservative movement. For decades, Steve has put his time, energy, and resources behind the causes that matter most to Wyoming families and all freedom-loving Americans. Steve and his family were early funders and supporters of Turning Point USA, meeting a young Charlie Kirk in 2012 and providing crucial early support to help build the organization into a national powerhouse for young conservatives. He backed Tea Party Patriots in their fight against runaway spending and Obama’s efforts to transform America and supported True the Vote’s work to protect election integrity and stop radical Democrats from cheating in our elections. Steve has advocated for school choice, backed conservative candidates up and down the ballot, and supported President Trump. Steve Friess has spent decades in the trenches proving his conservative values, not just saying them.
If elected, Friess has pledged to work alongside President Trump to secure the southern border and pass the SAVE America Act, restore law and order, oppose all tax increases, reduce regulations, unleash Wyoming’s energy and mining industries, defend Wyoming’s ranching way of life, end federal mismanagement of public lands, defend the Second Amendment, oppose the radical left’s extreme abortion agenda and attacks on our values, and protect Social Security and Medicare for Wyoming seniors.
Friess supports term limits for Congress, a ban on members trading stocks while in office and becoming lobbyists afterwards, and withholding congressional pay if Congress fails to pass a budget. On national security, Steve supports rebuilding the military to secure peace through strength and taking care of veterans.
Wyoming’s congressional seat is now open after Representative Harriet Hageman announced she will run for Wyoming’s U.S. Senate seat. Friess praised Hageman’s service to Wyoming in the House: “Harriet Hageman is a good friend, and she has been an outstanding voice for Wyoming in Congress and a fierce defender of our way of life. She will make an incredible United States Senator, and I look forward to supporting her in that race.”
