Wyoming seniors have paid into Social Security and Medicare throughout their entire working lives. The government made a promise, and Steve will keep that promise. He will not support cuts to benefits for anyone who is at retirement or already in the workforce.
The biggest threat to Social Security and Medicare is Washington’s reckless spending and borrowing. If irresponsible politicians bankrupt the country, there will be nothing left to pay benefits. Steve will fight to cut spending and grow the economy so these programs stay solvent. For younger workers, he supports a voluntary, government-backed 401(k) option in addition to Social Security contributions, and he is encouraged by President Trump’s creation of Trump Accounts that help every child born during the Trump administration start adulthood with a nest egg.
Steve advocates reforming Medicare Advantage and exploring premium support systems that boost competition and offer seniors better options. He also supports block-granting Medicaid to states. Wyoming knows how to better care for its truly impoverished citizens than federal bureaucrats, and can do a better job policing waste, fraud, and abuse in the system than the federal government.
