The federal government controls nearly half of Wyoming’s land. That conflicts with Wyoming’s sovereignty and economic freedom. Federal officials in Washington, many who have never visited our state, are making decisions about Wyoming’s grazing permits, mineral rights, and land use that impact the livelihoods of our ranchers, outfitters, sportsmen, and communities.
Steve advocates transferring federal land to state control where it makes sense. Wyoming manages its resources more effectively than Washington bureaucrats. He will oppose any administration’s land grabs that restrict Wyoming’s resources through monument designations or federal rules, and he will defend public land access for hunting, fishing, ranching, and recreation. These traditional activities define our way of life, and Steve will oppose any efforts to shut them down or limit them.
Wyoming’s land and water are not just beautiful, they are the foundation of our economy and our way of life. Steve will fight to ensure that Wyoming has a voice in how our lands are managed, that the federal government respects Wyoming’s water compacts and allocations, and that our state’s interests come first, not the agenda of radical environmentalists in Washington and San Francisco.
